Keep Ireland Open AGM – March 9th

The Keep Ireland Open Annual General Meeting takes place on Saturday, March 9th at 11am in Tailors’ Hall, Back Lane, Dublin 8, Eircode: D08 X2A3.

Guest speaker, Lucy McFarlane, former Rights of Way Officer in Shropshire, England has worked in most aspects of countryside access in England. She has developed and promoted routes, enforced legislation, and investigated claims for routes to be recorded as public rights of way. We will hear how the system works in England and continue the discussion with politicians who have accepted our invitation.

This will be followed by Keep Ireland Open’s brief AGM and reports on the issues around the country in the afternoon with plenty of time to get warmed-up for Ireland’s rugby game in Twickenham !

You can see more details and book your free ticket on EventBrite HERE.

It is also an ideal opportunity to see inside this historic 300 year old building – The Tailors’ Guild Hall. In the 1790s the Hall hosted the Catholic Convention, generally termed the “Back Lane Parliament”. The Dublin Society of the United Irishmen met there every second Friday at 8pm in winter and 9pm in the summer. John Keogh, Theobold Wolfe Tone and Napper Tandy were regular attenders.

While everyone is welcome to attend the AGM only paid-up members or their proxies are eligible to vote. If you are not already a member or if your membership has elapsed please join or renew HERE.
